ABOUT THE TROOP

Meetings: 7:15 - 8:45pm, Thursdays.

Location: Scout Hut, Chorley Old Road, Whittle-le-Woods.

Fees: £30 per school term.

Scout's are aged 10½ – 14 years old. The Scout's meet in Troops of between 12 and 24.

Scouting activities include making things, going on visits, making friends, doing badges, lots of outdoor activities and of course camps.You can visit the Scout page at the Scout Associations offical site at the following link Scouts website

Some typical Scout activities include:-

• Working towards earning "Badges" • Play lots of Games
• Visit the local Fire Station • Do a sponsored walk
• Go on an Activity Day • Go on a Nature Trail or Treasure Hunt
• Make things out of just about anything! • Invite someone from the community for a talk
• Walk in a Parade • Trip to a local Country Park
• Hiking • Act out an 'Imagination' Evening
• Camping • Making friends!

We aim to provide a balanced program of activities that are fun and challenging for the Scout's. Activities are designed to allow them to try new things, meet new people, make new friends, learn about themselves and others and the world around them, have fun and play games. Scout's enjoy trying new skills which help them develop physically, mentally and socially.

“County Rally”

For the last 2 years the scout's section has attended the County Rally held at Waddecar Scout Camp.

There are many activities at the County Rally for Scout's to try including Fencing, Volleyball, Archery, Climbing, Tug-of-War and Canoeing.

“Games at the Scout Hut”

Meetings are held every Thursday night. All sorts of activities are done during the meetings including games and badge work. Somtimes meetings are held away from the Scout Hut. Recently the scouts enjoyed a trip to Cuerdon valley for bat watching.
